St. James Day Festivities Bring Music, Barbecue, Book Launch and Kids’ Fun
Sunday, July, 23
The annual celebration day of our patron Saint James will be full of special festivities on Sunday, July 23. The Selwyn College Choir is coming from Cambridge to add their voices to our 10:00 am service (See article below). The Vestry is planning a savory barbecue feast after the service and Children's Ministries will provide St. James themed games and crafts for the kids.
The day will even feature the launch of parishioner Edie Littlefield Sundby's book The Mission Walker. A cancer survivor, she walked the Camino Real Trail, 1,600 miles from Sanoma, Northern California to Loreto, Baja California with one lung, a map, a mule, a machete and a backpack. “I would walk one step at a time, one day at a time, and God would decide how long and how far, “ she said. Be sure to stop by her table and pick up a copy of her memoir of her long trek .
This will also be the last day to view the James Hubbell art exhibit in our new gallery space. Open since May 19, the show will close at 2:00 pm. The sights, sounds and community of the parish Patronal Feast Day are not to be missed.
