The St. James GALLERY by-the-Sea
invites all photographers to enter our
San Diego’s Mid-Century Places of Worship Photo Contest and Exhibition!
Exhibition September 20-October 27, 2019
ORIGINS
This photography competition, organized by the St. James GALLERY by-the-Sea, has been inspired by a show taking place in the Fall at the La Jolla Historical Society located opposite the GALLERY. The Historical Society is putting on a show of the work of Julius Shulman, who took stunning photographs of San Diego’s mid-century buildings. This show got us thinking about San Diego’s outstanding collection of mid-century places of worship. We decided to organize a competition which would highlight this unique collection of sacred spaces.
