A search committee (calling committee), chaired by Lisa Johnston, has been named to find a new rector for St. James by-the-Sea. The committee met for the first time Monday, 11/10, and will meet again on 12/1.
An important early goal is to make communication with the parish as timely, robust, and open as possible. We hope to do that frequently through the weekly e-blast, the weekly Seabreeze, and the monthly Chimes.
For all of us in the congregation, this is most definitely not the time to "check out" and wait for the committee to present a new perfect rector. We need your help!
First, please make contact with your committee members, and let us know your particular hopes, dreams and prayers for the future of St. James and its next rector.
Second, you are already beginning to hear about the “CAT”, or Church Assessment Tool. This survey will: measure the level of satisfaction and energy in St. James, identify the critical success factors for improving our culture, discover where members would like to go in the future, gauge readiness for change, uncover potential resources we may be missing, and prepare for a search for our next rector.
Let’s make this a parish-wide process we can all feel part of and proud of!
