Morning Evening
1 Corinthians 15:36: “What you sow does not come to life unless it dies.”
Jesus predicted his death and resurrection when he described the way a grain of wheat must die before it can “bear much fruit.” And here St. Paul tells us that what we sow cannot come to life unless it dies. It is the mysterious but wonderful invitation of Easter to sow death, pain, loss, and suffering, not as an end in themselves, but with the understanding that when sown, these can be reborn into new life in God. The cross...leads to resurrection. What we sow will come to life when it dies.
What are some things you have had to sow in Christ? Die to? Give up? Offer to God? What new life is God bringing from it for you this Easter?
Be well. This too shall pass. In the meantime, we pray.
In Christ,
