1.
Beneath the cross of Jesus I fain would take my stand, the shadow of a mighty rock within a weary land, A home within a wilderness, a rest upon the way, from the burning of the noontide heat and the burden of the day. 2. Upon that cross of Jesus mine eyes at times can see the very dying form of one who suffered there for me; and from my smitten heart with tears two wonders I confess: the wonders of redeeming love, and my unworthiness. |
3.
I take, O cross, thy shadow for my abiding place; I ask no other sunshine than the sunshine of his face; content to let my pride go by, to know no gain nor loss, my sinful self my only shame, my glory all the cross. |
“There will be a live Zoom ‘agape’ meal at 6:00 pm followed by a pre-recorded service of spiritual communion, with the choir, played on the Zoom meeting at 7:00 pm. Everyone is invited to join us. During the meal we will say some prayers for the day, hear some readings and eat together. All you need to do by way of preparation is to have a simple meal ready to go at 6:00 pm, with a glass of wine/grape juice and bread on hand. And you might also want to have a candle close by. This will be a good time of fellowship and a great way to prepare for the service which will follow straight afterwards on the same Zoom meeting HERE.
