Parish to Take Lenten Journey in Franciscan Spirituality Five Wednesday Evenings

Picture
Families and all ages are welcome on each Wednesday evening of March for the Lenten series "A Journey in Franciscan Spirituality" led by Teresa Hixson.
We will be discovering the lives of St. Francis and St. Clare through their writings and spirituality as they followed the footsteps of Jesus. It’s inspiring to gain insights from Francis and Clare who traveled journeys of transformation during tumultuous times when their world seemed to be turned upside down with social, political, and cultural struggle. They were transformed and thus they became transformative. They found solace and strength in relationship with God. Their spirituality is inspiring, humbling and energizing while inviting us to embrace the infinite generosity of God’s goodness!
All are invited to join us for these Lenten Soup Suppers, Wednesdays, March 1, 8, 15, 22  and  29, 5:45 pm Supper, 6:15-7:15 pm Session, Parish Hall. Children will have their own study program included after supper. Let Leighton know you're bringing the kids at Leighton@sjbts.org
Come to all, or one, or as many as you can! The sessions are also available online with handouts HERE.

Lenten Quiet Day for Women To Be Led by Mother Rebecca

Picture
The Daughters of the King will co-host the annual Lenten Quiet Day on March 25 at St. David's in Bay Park. Mother Rebecca will lead the day, entitled “Finding Healing and Health from a Biblical Perspective”. Observing a Lenten Quiet Day has long been a part of our Christian tradition. It’s a time set aside to be silent and embark on a journey of faith and healing. As an added blessing, it offers us an opportunity to spend a special morning with Mother Rebecca, our beloved spiritual leader, before she assumes her role as rector of St. Dunstan’s. It promises to be a powerful experience, providing a deeper biblical understanding of how we can find healing for ourselves and foster healing for others in the service of God.
The Saint James Daughters of the King chapter is honored to co-host this event  (along with St. David’s DOK chapter) for all women of the diocese. The day begins at 9:00 am with a chance to meet the other participants, an optional walk on the labyrinth and an opportunity to pray the Stations of the Cross. From 9:30-11:30 am Mother Rebecca will present her Lenten program, allowing times for silent reflection. At 11:30 am there will be a Healing Service with Eucharist and meditative Taize music, followed by a potluck lunch. (Please bring a salad or dessert to share.)
RSVP by March 20 to Janet Shaw jallenshaw@yahoo.com
St. David’s is located at 5050 Milton Street in Bay Park.
